I'm greatly behind on my postings here. But I am going to get going here to share this important information for you. We are busy learning and getting geared up for our SAT 10 Achievement test that comes in the end of the school year.
I found a link that has some information for you about what kinds of things are tested and some sample items.
It also has some helpful tips for preparing for the test. I hope you find this information helpful.
At the beginning of the year and then in January I sent home Fry Word Lists. If your child can read the first 300 words from memory to you they should do fine reading the test items and stories to yourself.
Please practice reading with your child every night. They must be able to read parts of the test to themselves to do well. Practice is the only way to get better at reading. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Here's a link if you need to get another copy:
If anyone would like to volunteer some time to come in and read with small groups of students, you are welcome! Please contact me to set something up!
Thank you for your support in educating your child. It's definitely a team effort and I am so happy to have a great group of parents this year! You make a difference!
